Covid-19 Management Update

23 Mar 2020

This morning's announcement by the Premier has made it clear that Blayney High school will remain open until further notice. This is to support parents who work in critical services to be able to remain at work.

Parents of other students are being encouraged to keep their students at home where possible.

To allow education to continue, all Department schools are moving to online units of work. For Blayney High School these can be accessed through the Google Classroom platform which students are familiar with through their work at school.

There will be no face to face lessons for students who attend school. Students will be minimally supervised to work on these online units while at school. This will allow the bulk of staff to be working on the creation of online units, providing online feedback, responding to students via phone, email or Google Classroom and marking submitted work.

Students who have laptops and who are attending are asked to bring these fully charged. Students who attend and do not have a device will be allocated a single computer to use for the duration of that day.

Students who do not have online access at home can request hard copies of tasks. These can be collected from the school or be posted depending on your preference.

There are continuing questions around Stage 6 courses and the HSC. The NESA Board are meeting tomorrow to discuss these issues and further communication will follow as soon as possible

A Department resource for Learning Online can be accessed here…/curriculum/learning-from-home

A full list of staff email addresses and Google Classroom codes will be posted tomorrow for students who may not have these.

Please, if you can - Stay Home, Stay Safe, Keep Learning.
