Mandatory PD/H/PE
Through the mandatory course, students will be participating in a 50% split between the practical component and the theoretical components of our subject including the following topics.
Year 9: Drug use, mental health, road safety and lifelong physical activity.
Year 10: Sexual health, recognising and responding to abuse, strengthening resilience and challenges and opportunities
A wide range of physical activities and team based sports and games are used to assess students participation and motor skill performance.
Elective PASS (Physical Activity and Sports Studies)
Entering Stage 5 all students are given greater opportunity and choice to further pursue their sporting interest with our PASS Elective. The PASS Elective can be selected to include either a further 100 hours or 200 hours of total study which paves the way into our Senior 2 unit PDHPE course. The PASS topics include:
History of Australian sport, careers in the sporting industry, basic anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, coaching and training, influences of technology and a world view of sports/sporting issues.
