The Raise Foundation is a registered Australian charity which improves the lives of young people in ourcommunity by providing school and community based mentoring programs and personal development workshops. They put into practice the idea that it takes a village to raise a child.
At Blayney High School, we are very fortunate to be able to offer our Year 8 & 9 students the opportunity to be involved in this mentoring program that focuses on:
Each program is coordinated by a qualified Program Counsellor who will bring a group of Raise mentors into each school for an hour each week at a consistent time. They facilitate one-on-one mentoring, followed by group supervision for mentors.
All mentors have completed accredited training in Mentoring in the community through TAFE NSI, and undergo the compulsory Working with children and Police Checks, as well as providing personal and employment references.
