Technical and Applied Studies (TAS)

Technological and applied studies (TAS) is mandatory for all students in Year 7 and 8 (Stage 4). The stage 4 Technology Mandatory course, is the foundation which illustrates the role of practical experience and design and production in the development of technological knowledge, understanding and skills.

In TAS, students develop knowledge, understanding and skills through a design and production process using a range of tools, materials and techniques in theory and practical lessons.

The continuum of technology learning is:

Mandatory Courses (Stage 4 - Years 7 and 8)
Technology Mandatory Years 7-8 (inclusive Food/Agriculture, Digital Technologies, Material Technologies/Textiles/Timber/metal, Engineering systems)
Elective Courses (Stage 5 - Years 9 and 10 )
Elective Courses (Stage 6 - Years 11 and 12)
