Community and Family Studies (CAFS)
Community and Family Studies (CAFS) Stage 6 is an ATAR course that develops an understanding of individuals, families, and communities in Australian society, focusing on resource management and effective planning to address contemporary issues. Students learn fundamental concepts of wellbeing, needs, values, goal setting, and decision-making to function effectively in personal, family, and community contexts. The course requires students to research social issues, apply research methodologies, and develop strategies for managing resources to enhance the wellbeing of individuals, groups, families, and communities. Students at BHS also have the opportunity to engage in community events and apply their knowledge and ideas.
