Resources 

The School library is a multimedia resource centre for both students and staff.  The collection exists to support the teaching programs of the school, as well as for the information and recreational needs of its users.

Reading 

Borrowing:

The library uses the OASIS automated library system.  Items are borrowed and returned at the circulation desk at the library entrance.
 
Students in Year 7-12 may have up to 6 items on loan at the one time. The borrowing period for almost all resources is 3 weeks.

eBooks:

Borrow and read eBooks from our library anywhere, anytime, on multiple devices.using the Blayney High School ebook lending facility located at  https://blayneyhs.wheelers.co/
 
Students in Year 7-12 may loan up to 3 ebooks at the one time. The borrowing period for almost all resources is 3 weeks.
 

Premier's Reading Challenge:

The school participates in the Premier's Reading Challenge through the Library.
 

Use of Library:

 During  lunch students must use the library for activities directly related to schoolwork, such as assignments, homework, studying & reading and borrowing. In the second half of lunch, they may use the computers to play approved games.

Photocopier:

The library photocopier is available for use free of charge.  It is expected that students will use it for photocopying individual copies for their own research purposes and printing off set tasks.
 

Homework Centre

Each Tuesday and Thursday the library is open after school for students to work on homework, assignments and get some teacher help. Students without access to home computers or internet are welcome to take advantage of this time . The library is supervised by volunteer staff from 3.30-5pm. 
 

Technical Support:

Mrs Kylie Pay, the Technical Support Officer  is located in the library. Kylie is available Monday -Thursday to assist with student logins and school devices. Assistance with BYOD devices is limited to internet connection at school only. BYOD Hardware issues will need to be dealt with externally from the school.
